It’s officially been coat weather for a little while now and I must admit I’m not always up for a big layering production. Sometimes it’s nice to just keep things organized without fussing with multiple collars and scarves. Staples in my closet during fall/winter are a black turtleneck and a great peacoat. Bonus points if the combination results in you looking like a British spy from the 1970s.
It’s great to be able to ditch the coat if the temperature permits so I try to consider the outfit with and without one.
I have a weakness for an all black ensemble but it’s nice to mix it up with different textures like thin knits and rich leather. I have ALWAYS dreamed of owning a pair of real leather pants and when I saw these in the Madewell look book resistance was futile. I was looking for a casual option that wasn’t too shiny or zipper laden. The seams are placed perfectly and the interior is super soft making them ultra comfortable.
