Style Bee - Summer - Look 14

I meant to have this post ready yesterday but once we got home from the airport, reunited with the pup and took a moment to relax there was just nothing left in the tank for blog prep. Alas, this look is finding it’s way to the blog a day late but I’ve got to admit, it’s one of my favourites so far this summer!

I’m a firm believer in the power of monochrome. Whether the look is all black, all white or even a muted colour, I’m into it. Nothing like a style trick that’s easy, chic and never fails to pack a punch! To keep this one interesting I played around with layers, textures and strong accessories. This flowy boho blouse has been one of my favourite spring/summer closet additions this year. It adds a touch of femininity to any look without being overly girly and it’s ridiculously comfortable to wear. I ended up layering it over a loose white tank just by chance and loved the silhouette it created. White skinnies were an obvious match and I added black accessories to keep it from feeling too precious. The result is a fresh, easy outfit that’s great for cool summer evenings and just begging to be accompanied by a frosty glass of Prosecco.

Perhaps a tipsy Tuesday is in order?

What a perfect outfit, I love the crisp white and black combo. I have that same Cuyana tote and use it nonstop.

Lee, your site is beautiful! I just found it via pinterest and I am so glad that I did. Can’t wait to follow along.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment Nan! I’m so glad you found and like my blog! Yours is so great too 🙂 This Cuyana tote has been pretty much everywhere with me over the last couple years. It’s amazing, right?! xo

I love this look Lee, especially the layers on top, very nice touch! Wearing white pants is a distant dream of mine (too many little people under my roof) but I too would love to hear how you keep things clean.

Thanks Andrea! I know, I feel like I have a very limited window for white pants in my life right now, so I’m taking advantage! I try to stick to easily washable materials, this silk tank being an exception but it’s been through several washes and held up great. I only wash with cold water and use a cold water specific detergent. I also use Shout on stains and if I get any organic stains like berries, wine or coffee I pour boiling water over them and magically they disappear. I kid you not! Hope that helps! xo

I’m in the all black camp as well- no way I would last 5 minutes in my classroom (or anywhere, for that matter) in all white! I love your accessorizing, it definitely reduces the cuteness.

lee – i have to ask… how do you keep your whites so clean, after a full day, romps with the dog, life, etc.? i stick to black. it hides a multitude of sins…

I certainly don’t rock all white all that often but I find if I stick to washable materials I can keep them in pretty good condition. I only wash with cold water and use a cold water specific detergent. I also use Shout on stains and if I get any organic stains like berries, wine or coffee I pour boiling water over them and magically they disappear. I kid you not! xo
