Merry Christmas

12.25.15

I always seem to forget about a Christmas Day post until the very last minute and this year was no exception. Right now I’m probably in my old bed at my parent’s place trying to convince Dobby to cuddle with us a little longer before he and his corgi brother, Charlie, hustle downstairs for breakfast and squirrel chasing. Christmas morning has been pretty much the same for my entire life, which I love. We wake up lazily, put some flannel on and shuffle downstairs to sit around the tree, sip hot drinks (one year it was scotch since the furnace was broken) and open our presents, stockings first of course! Our family has always been small, just the three of us humans and lots of furry family members but I’m so happy to have Dave with us again this year (which makes 5 Christmases together). Everything just feels a lot more complete with that fella around.

I’ll keep it short because I know you’ve got better things to do than read my ramblings and lots of good things to open and eat. I just want to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! If you’re not celebrating Christmas, that’s cool too, enjoy the day off and I hope you’ve got some good folks around and some good food to chow!

Lastly, our amaryllis opened right on schedule and it’s beautiful big red blooms are such a lovely reminder that it’s the little moments in life that really matter and that we’re about to each have a whole new year to bloom! Sorry for the cheese ball sentiment, I swear it’s all the wine and casserole I’ve been consuming and well, maybe the fact that I’m a little bit cheesy when it comes right down to it. Enjoy the day and all the best from me to you!

Sounds like a beautiful Christmas morning, very traditional, we always do stockings first. Now that our 4 kids are grown adults stockings have some very unusual things in them, no more candy or fruit. Only one of our grown sons had time because he was working to stop by in morning and I made him a breakfast pizza that has been a very big tradition for over 25 years in our family. It is an egg, hash browns, cheddar cheese, little parmesan and either bacon or sausage over a crescent roll crust but made on a pizza pan.
I have scanned all your items one your website, very nice, good fabric and terrific sewing procedure. I love my black fabric sleepless top, quality is wonderful. Your Mom as your model with her height and fashion sense looks great. Unfortunately I am a petite size with short waist and short arms so jackets hang down over my hands and normal sizes length in tops are too long for me. You might give some thought to personal sewing with different measurements than just the lucky ladies that have space between mid section. As winter leaves, some bright colors would be great and prints. You are going to have a happy prosperous year I can tell. Love your aunt Lucy
