I don’t buy into many trends these days but this “shacket” from last year is one I definitely don’t regret. When it comes to deciding on whether or not a trend will have staying power in my closet I try to picture not only how I’d wear the style in 5 years but also, how I’d have worn it 5 years ago.

Next time you’re waffling on a trend-forward piece, maybe think about the life it would have lived in your closet already.
