Spring has decided to take it’s sweet time arriving and I’m still trying to shake the chill of a waning winter. With unpredictable temperatures and spring being a busy time at work, I am on the look out for easy transition pieces that I can wear in the studio or running errands and switch up quickly to head out for dinner.
I nabbed these printed trousers as soon as I spotted them on NastyGal, my longtime online shopping mistress. They are so slinky and comfortable I can easily wear them all day (they have since sold out but these pants are similar, also similar). I’ll stay casual (if I have no meetings) with a jean jacket (j.crew), gray tee (Joe Fresh), neutral flats (cece suede flat j.crew).

I like to diffuse the bold pattern slightly by adding another geometric print like this bag (old club monaco). Then I’ll swap the flats for heels, the jacket for a blazer and the big bag for a clutch and I’m ready to be out on the town.
Lately I have been completely obsessed with bright hues (hence the electric heels j.crew) and crisp white tones (cue the Madewell blazer). This is perhaps brought on by the clash of spring’s warmer weather causing the last of the ice to melt. As such, these pants have been the perfect segue between the whites and brights.
LOOK 2
Clutch – Old J.Crew but Zara has great options here. Bracelets are from my favorite Canadian jewelry boutique Biko – Modern Friendship and Neo Finn. Elephant necklace from J.Crew Factory. Lipstick – Covergirl Hot Passion.
