CASUAL SPRING TRAVEL 10×10 CAPSULE – 12 OUTFITS

05.01.22

Yep, you read that right, TWELVE outfits!

Today I’m sharing a rundown of all the outfits I put together using my Casual Spring Travel 10×10 Capsule. I had so much fun sharing this 10×10 and found this capsule to be everything I’d hoped it would be. Lean, versatile, stylish and just a general delight to wear and work with. I’ll definitely stand by the formula I used for any future travelling I may do as well.

I hope you enjoyed following along and maybe even picked up an idea or two? If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the Style Journal entry for any looks you really like (I’ve linked to those below). There are specific styling tips and prompts for each look to help you make something similar happen in your own closet.

Scroll on for all 10 looks and 2 bonus outfits!

*Plus my top findings from the exercise.*

Since I stretched the numbers a little by including a lounge set as one item, I had a bit of extra wiggle room to build two additional outfits! Here’s how I styled the top of the set and the bottom of the set into two looks with other items from the capsule.

A FEW FINDINGS:

1 // I found this capsule to be incredible easy to wear and style, which is a great indication that it’s well aligned with my lifestyle and the items I chose were highly versatile.

2 // It wasn’t until I put together this post that I realized I didn’t style my trench coat and clogs in many looks together so that was something I could have tried more.

3 // I wore my cardigan and trench coat more than I captured but for the sake of keeping it interesting I didn’t always show the trench on.

4 // The weather was still a bit cold for bare ankles and light layers on a couple of days so I swapped in ankle boots and some warm accessories as needed.

5 // In reality I wouldn’t wear a tee for more than one full day on a trip so if I used this capsule I’d multiply the number of basics like that to ensure a fresh option every day. But having a formula is definitely critical.

6 // I could have probably styled at least 4 more looks within this capsule but the outfits I shared were genuinely what I’d wear, rather than trying to come up with more combinations for the sake of it.

7 // Yet again, the 10×10 exercise has proven useful and illuminating! Turns out this challenge does get easier with time but it never fails to prove that more can be done with much less than we think.

8 // I had a blast sharing this capsule! I used to put so much pressure on myself when I’d share 10x10s in the past and it would leave me totally drained. This time reminded me why I started this little challenge and I’m really grateful to have had that refresher.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR TUNING IN!

Definitely using this capsule formula for my next trip. Thanks Lee!

I really enjoyed seeing you do a 10×10 again Lee. You always have so many great ideas with your 10 items and I’m glad you enjoyed it this time and it wasn’t too stressful. I love the simple but great idea to just take similar t-shirts with you so you can wear the ‘same’ thing more than once.

  3. Kelly says:

I love these travel capsules. They’re so inspiring! You mentioned that you only wear a shirt once when traveling. I remember my mother’s generation wearing dress shields that stick to the underarm of shirts so the shirt can be worn more than once. I kind of like the idea as it allows you to carry less and avoid laundry when traveling. I’ve seen them on Amazon but never tried them. Any thoughts? Thanks

    • Lee the Bee says:

So happy to hear that Kelly! That’s definitely an interesting idea. Personally, I don’t find it too much trouble to just stash my worn items in a laundry compartment in my suitcase and do laundry at home. Wearing a fresh t-shirt everyday is somewhat essential for me but I can totally see that trick coming in handy for a garment that I needed to wear a few times on a trip without being able to launder it.
