StyleBee - GUSTA - 3/6

If I had to pick a uniform to wear all winter it would probably be skinny jeans, boots, a plain top and an oversized sweater of some sort. I’m finding more and more that simplicity is the key to my style satisfaction. It might seem like the easy way or even the lazy way to go about getting ready but I find it actually takes a great deal of discipline to truly keep a look simple. Some might find this approach boring and I can appreciate that but I actually find it the opposite.

Keeping a look minimal means the details of each piece can really be appreciated. When you’ve got too many elements all vying for attention the little things that matter get missed. Take this wool cardigan by Gusta for example. The shawl collar, the contrasting cuffs and the fiber-rich wool texture are what make it special and unique and this look let’s those elements get noticed. I also love how despite it’s simplicity it’s still a statement piece.

So maybe next time you’re getting ready try to uncomplicate things (this is really a note to myself). Don’t worry about making things obvious, just let the simple details take the stage.

Hi Sara, The cardigan was part of the GUSTA FW14 collection so I believe they have all sold out. I’d bet there will be something similar in the FW15 collection if you can hang on that long. Thanks for checking though! xo

Love this look! I’m a firm believer in keeping my style simple, and finding pieces that contain subtle, yet defining details. Not to mention my obsession with oversized and turtleneck sweaters! Can’t decide which I like more – the turtleneck or the cardigan – both are amazing 🙂

I love pretty much everything about this outfit! The elements are similar to my normal winter uniform (a little different this year as I’m 8 months pregnant :P). Coveting the cardigan!

My jaw pretty much dropped to my desk when I saw this cardigan! It’s absolutely perfect, but the one-size-fits-all detail makes me so sad. OS things hardly ever fit me (case in point, the HDH blouse I just posted on IG is OS; on the model online it looks huge and perfectly billowy, and yet on me it’s super tight on the hips unless I hike it up over my butt–almost returned it but convinced myself I could make it work. It does work in the end, but it’s nowhere near the same aesthetic as HDH advertises, which is disappointing). I just wish companies avoided doing OS things for the sake of us curvier girls! I would consider making an exception for this cardigan though, ah. How thick/thin is it, and is there any substantial warmth to it? Decisions! By the way, I am utterly obsessed with the first photo! You are so photogenic, my eyes can’t take it, haha.

Shannon, I just love how forthright and honest you are! It’s so needed! I get what you mean about OS fits most. I know all too well how a garment can change from shot to shot too so it’s always tough to judge and trust what you see in photos.

I will say this cardigan is awesome! I couldn’t believe how nice it was when I opened the box. It’s super warm and has a definite weight to it, comparable if not slightly heavier than the Acne cardigan. At first I found it a little itchy but I stopped noticing after a short time wearing it.

You’re too sweet! Trust me that for every good shot there are countless bad ones! Thanks beauty! xo
