When I first decided to include two dresses in my summer foundation closet I worried that I might be limiting my options. So not the case! The dresses have actually gotten the most use out of all the items and have been much more versatile than I anticipated. Plus they’re really comfortable and just about the only things suitable for the crazy hot days we’ve had lately.
I’m feeling a little Urban Outfitters meets Vintage Thrift Shop in this outfit. It’s perhaps a bit busier than I typically go for but I’m feeling the laid-back layers and the mix of warm tones and materials. I really can’t rave about this dress by Calder Blake enough. I wear it all day then just tossed it into the wash (on delicate), hang it up to dry and it’s like new again. The rest of the items in this look are old favourites and I’m so glad I invested in the best quality clogs and a great wool fedora. I feel like they’ll never go out of style (at least my personal style that is) and they’ve yet to make an outfit anything but better!
I feel like I’m finally starting to get the hang of mixing and matching to make the most of my capsule/foundation closet. It’s so nice to be pleasantly surprised by pairings I would have otherwise never tried. Definitely one of the best takeaways from the experience!
Ps. I’ve been sharing the back view of outfits lately, which at first I felt odd about but now I’m thinking it’s a good idea since that’s essentially 1/2 the look. What do you think?
I always want to see the full look, back view is a great :)!
Thanks Abbi! Will definitely keep that in mind. xo
I’m inspired to try out some clogs for Spring/Summer 🙂
PS. Back view is good!
Thanks Mun! I’m glad you’re into the clogs! I absolutely LOVE them. You get the height of a heel with the comfort of a flat. Win, win! xo
