Style Bee - Look 16 - Easy Does It

Spring has been playing a serious game of hard to get this year, but if there’s anything people from Southern Ontario are good at, it’s enduring bad weather. Bring on the ice, bring on the flurries, bring on the wind and the sleet, we can take it. But for me, the hardest part is seeing all the beautiful Springtime scenes everywhere else in the world. That, and the dresses. The pretty shifts, the flowy skirts, the linens, the denims, the chicness that I cannot wait to embrace is always the hardest part to bear.

Once this perfect little chambray tunic arrived last week I knew I could hold out no more and decided it was time to embrace some proper spring goodness. I could have styled it with a pair of tights, boots and a jacket (because that’s how I’m wearing it right now) but I just had to pair it with the pretty warm weather accessories it deserves. I even went so far as to expose my shockingly pale legs. Now that’s commitment! (Sorry if you had to lower the brightness of your screen though.)

Then I realized, that for me, style is what gets me through the tough times of each season. I mean the grass is always greener right? Whether I’m dreaming of culottes and open toes during the dead of winter or fantasizing about leather boots and wool coats during a summer heat-wave, it’s those little threads of hope that make it all OK. We’ll have to address my inability to live in the moment another day though.

Now, I know a lot of you have been enduring the same long winter (or very cold Spring) so as a little pick-me-up I’m giving away a piece of your choice from ONLY CHILD‘s gorgeous SS16 collection! See below for how to enter.

1 | Chambray Tunic by Only Child | This dress is so easy to wear it’s silly! I absolutely love the shape and this lightweight denim gives it the perfect blend of movement and structure.

2 | Envelope Clutch (similar) by Primecut | Love this all tan option and this smooth leather one is a minimalist dream!

3 | Wedges by Coclico via Garmentory | These are a darker version and insanely good but I also love the Anemone Wedge.

4 | Earrings and Ring by CLAUS | These earrings are so light I forgot I had them on. Perfect for anyone who wants a statement without the weight.

    This tunic! Perfect for Summer

  2. Kaja says:

The Dora Silk Blend Dress! I’d go for a bold red lip, delicate gold jewelry, black clutch, and strappy black heeled sandals on a date night with the hubs. Look beautiful and feel comfortable. Thanks for the new brand recommendation Lee 🙂

  3. Emily says:

I love the Sara box top in black (I’d probably frequently wear it with an all black ensemble) but this chambray dress is lovely too. ???? I’d probably style it with Adidas superstars or Vans sk8-hi’s for everyday wear, and some cute sandals for summer weddings.

  4. Melissa Seymour says:

Absolutely love the shape of the Willa denim tunic dress! And with pockets! Oh my!! Also really love your blog by the way! I’ve been working towards a conscious wardrobe too for the last year or so and have been finding lots of inspiration in your posts! Xo

    • Lee the Bee says:

Thanks so much Melissa! I’m so glad to hear that and really appreciate you reading and visiting this little corner of the blogosphere. All the best! xo

  5. Leigh says:

Already replied on IG but I can’t resist doubling my chances for one of these pieces! I’m all over that Mara Tunic! The styling possibilities are endless!

  6. Morgane Le Pouesard says:

Love the Jess kimono! I would style it over a silky slip, with sandals and hot pink lipstick! Love red and pink together. Cannot wait for spring to arrive in Toronto (kinda here today but who knows), and these clothes are getting me dreamy!

  7. Anita says:

The Willa dress is my absolute favorite!

  8. Mythri Viswanathan says:

love the Sara Box Top! tucked into a serenity blue midi flutter skirt the colour blocking would be amazing!

  9. Mythri Viswanathan says:

love the Sara Box Top! tucked into a serenity blue midi flutter skirt the co,lour blocking would be amazing!

  10. Lisa says:

I really love the Lena Pants, so I guess I’d pick them. I would wear it together with a cropped linen shirt and a colored turban (love colored foulards worn im my hair lately…). Hope I get the chance to do so 😉 Love, Lisa

  11. Johanka says:

My favorite thing from the collection would be Sara Box Top in Black , because it’s so versatile, basic and looks super comfy (and I love how you styled it in the post before!). It’d also go with everything, but I’d wear it with trench, skinnies and ankle boots for school days. And gold jewellery!

  12. Ooh super hard this one! It must be the dress you’re wearing, making me long for summer nights and swimming in our nearby lake. So simple to throw over my bikini with a pair of leather slippers. Love the effortless style it breaths.

  13. Erica says:

Lee– I absolutely love your blog and this beautiful, effortlessly chic spring outfit starring the chambray tunic! So elegant. If I had to pick the Only Child piece of my dreams, it would be the Olivia Dress! I can see this piece transitioning beautifully through the North Carolina seasons– with leggings and black booties in fall/winter, with my favorite pair of Birkenstocks in summer, and so much more. Pick me, pick me! 🙂

    • Lee the Bee says:

Erica thanks so much for the kind words about my blog and for entering the giveaway. Sorry you didn’t win this one but there are lots of great giveaways in the works. I hope you had a great weekend! xo

  14. Jenny Della Santa says:

This is exciting! Difficult to choose because all of the pieces in the collection are so easy and minimal and just right. But I gotta go with the Willa denim tunic dress…I hardly get dressed anymore since having my daughter but when I do, this is the kind of garment I go to..Wear it with skinny jeans, leggings or cutoffs when it gets warm. Throw on my favorite clogs and we are off! Making mama stylish again! Thanks for doing this giveaway. Crossing my fingers.

  15. Jacki Mo says:

The Olivia Dress is the perfect LBD. It’s multi-seasonal and can transition well from day to night. It’s a throw on and go item that looks out together and can be dressed up or down. It would be a great addition to my capsule wardrobe, which is currently lacking in the dress department. I live in New England so I completely understand the wait for Spring. In colder months I’d wear this with tights and ankle boots. In summer, it would pair well with comfy wedges and a belt. The ideal item for a day that includes work in the am, and a date at night. Love love love!

  16. Eliza V says:

Love this tunic, but my favorite has to be the Dora Silk Blend dress. Can see wearing that with my red frye carson sandals on a casual summer afternoon or dressing it up with heels for summer weddings.

  17. Dee L says:

Wow, that Mara tunic is a dream! I love the relaxed shape and the simple, clean lines. I would wear it with some slightly distressed skinnies and a relaxed Chelsea boot. Great work, Lee! I draw daily inspiration from your blog and instagram! 🙂

  18. Tricia Sevier says:

I think my favourite is the Gemma Hi-Lo Tank. I love boxy cropped tops like that.

  19. miss agnes says:

Yeah, fantastic giveaway! I love the Sara box top iin white. It would look great with my white linen pants and nude sandals, also great with my boyfriends jean with platform sandals, or a cute kaki pleated skirt. Love your tunic also.

  20. Ann says:

The Willa tunic is the perfect dress to look put together, while chasing my little ones around. With canvas sneakers or sandals and some simple jewelry, I would be set for the summer!

  21. Katie says:

My dream Only Child piece is the Olivia dress. I love the drape and the perfect-for-every-occasion-ness of it. I’d wear it with tights and bulky scarf in the winter and sandals with my favorite turquoise earrings in the spring.

  22. Nora says:

I love the whole collection but if I have to pick one, it’s the Olivia dress. I wear it with and without a belt, stacked bracelets, and wedge sandals.

  23. Rebecca says:

My favorite is definitely the Willa denim tunic! I would wear with espadrilles, a couple of layered necklaces and a bandana.

  24. Kimberly says:

The Elle Kimono Jacket and the Mara Tunic in the silk blend are my favorite! It is hard to decide which one I love more but the kimono jacket is a great piece that would layer well for the spring/summer weather!

  25. Holly R says:

I love the Olivia dress! For the warmer summer months, I would style it with some leather clog sandals and hoop earrings. In the cooler months, I would wear it as a tunic over skinny jeans with heeled booties and a long necklace. I also love the Box Top!

  26. Monica B says:

I’m dying to find the perfect white shirt and I think the Sara Box top in white might just be the one! Black skinny jeans and ankle boots for cooler temps and cutoffs with Stan Smith sneaks for summer. Thanks for the chance to win!

  27. Dorothy says:

I would get the Willa Denim Tunic Dress and style with flat, woven sandals. It look so effortless for those hot and sticky summer days.

  28. Marcia says:

I love the Rhea linen box top. I would wear it with a black straight skirt and wedges. But I really love all of the pieces in this collection!

  29. Sharon says:

Oh yes, my favorite is the Willa denim tunic! This fits my simplified wardrobe goals and evolving quest for items lovingly handcrafted. The design is clean, simple and does double duty as a tunic and a dress with so many options – with leggings, culottes, belted or alone in its own simplistic glory. I envision it summer beach strolling paired only with a big floppy hat! Love your style – bee!

  30. Hilary says:

I would choose the Elle Kimono Jacket. Perfect for a night out with jeans or to work to get away from the standard jacket. Thanks for the contest! Fantastic blog!

  31. Sarah F says:

I love the Sara top in white. Classic with a bit of a cool edge. I’d style it with rolled black skinny jeans, ankle boots and a big mens watch and would either top it with a slouchy blazer or leather moto jacket depending on my mood.

  32. SuziAck says:

I would choose the willa dress/tunic, as well. You didn’t mention the best part: pockets! I am a sucker for anything with pockets. I’d wear it a million times, as a tunic now. and a dress later. Love your blog. You are becoming my style mentor. Love your jewelry choices, too.

  33. Laura says:

I love the Willa Denim Tunic Dress too! It would be perfect to wear traveling this summer as it would work perfectly dressed up or dressed down!

  34. Lin says:

My favorite is the tunic that you are wearing. I was considering the Black Crane painter dress in a similar color, however, this short sleeve version maybe a better alternative for spring and summer. Love the brands and pieces you recommend and the direction this blog is going is truly inspirational in a sea of fast fashion and flashy fashion blogs.

    • Lee the Bee says:

Thanks for the lovely comment and for entering the giveaway Lin! You don’t know how rewarding it is to hear such great feedback 🙂 Sorry you didn’t win this contest but there are more in the works! All the best. xo

  35. Katrina says:

I love the Elle Kimono Jacket! It’s so fancy and easy at the same time. I seem to never stray from buying black/white and gray and I love how it is paired with an all black outfit on the Only Child website. It would elevate a dress, pants or just keep me warm in any season.

  36. Sara says:

Obsessed with the Rhea Linen Box Top and the Gemma Hi-Low Tank. I’d pair either top with some skinny black denim and black booties.

  37. susyolivia says:

Also, unrelated to my entry in this contest, would you mind sharing some details about how you manage/keep up your website? I bought a domain and have tried to customize it but find that I am failing horribly and have no clue what I’m doing. Since yours is so gorgeous I was hoping to get some tips <3 Thank you in advance!

    • Lee the Bee says:

Hey Susy! I’d be more than happy to share some tips on how I manage my site, although I’m definitely no expert! Do you mind shooting me an email (lee.vosburgh@gmail.com) with any questions you have? That way we can go back and forth a bit easier than in the comments. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you. xoxo

  38. Jenna Lusk says:

The silk dress! It’s perfect to dress up or down with leopard sneakers or chunky heels. And red lips, of course. 😉

  39. Ali says:

The Thea tunic is just PERFECT for spring & summer, over leggings, with sunglasses and a pair of flats.

  40. cate says:

Ooh I love the Willa Denim Tunic Dress. It looks perfect for spring/summer and I would go so well in my wardrobe.

  41. Nora Jelinek says:

I cannot really say which one is my favourite. I like most of the styles ONLY CHILD sells! And I am also too indecisive! Which makes it even harder.
Anyways, I would choose Olivia dress. I would mostly wear it over pants (skinny or even formal trousers). 🙂
    Thank you!

  42. Heather says:

the Mara Tunic in Japanese Rayon – i would pair it with skinny jeans, ankle boots, and a bright lipstick

  43. Debi Case says:

That Jess Kimono is divine. Would be great playing with proportion over wide leg pants!

  44. Maria says:

I really like the box top; classic and modern.

  45. Julie says:

Your Instagram brought Only Child to my attention a few months back and I’ve been pining after Haley’s entire collection ever since. I have the Mara Tunic in Japanese rayon and I love it so much that I would like the Mara Tunic in white silk blend. It would be a perfect compliment to my mostly black and grey wardrobe and I really love how it’s totally appropriate for wearing to the office as well as out on the weekend. I would style it with slightly cropped black skinny jeans, my grey Sven mary jane clogs, and my Elizabeth Suzann Emma kimono in black linen from the new Signature Collection, which I’m eagerly anticipating in the mail soon! Since spring is quite cold here in Chicago, this outfit will work for months to come.

  46. I LOVE the Olivia dress. I’ve been searching for a simple black dress to throw on. I prefer wearing dresses in the summertime, but structured styles can feel uncomfortable and restrictive in the heat. This will be perfect for walking to the farmers market, church on Sunday, or balmy date nights. I already see myself wearing this a million and one ways, with slip on sneakers, sandals, wedges, statement necklaces or pretty scarves, a military jacket for cooler nights, as a coverup for the beach with sea salt wavy hair or on weekend errands with hair tossed in a bun.

  47. Amy says:

Love the simplicity of the Sara Box Top in white. Like a classic white tee, but so much more chic. I love clothes that can look good in any circumstance, from lounging on Saturdays to working on project to going out for coffee or dinner. This top will never look out of place.

  48. Heather E. says:

Love the Rhea linen box top! I’d wear it with my ES Cecilia pants, and probably a pair of minimal/modern black sandals.

  49. Jamie says:

I’m in love with the Willa denim dress as well. I’d wear it year round, but it looks so comfortable for summer!

  50. Delia says:

I love that denim dress! I’m really starting to learn to love looser silhouettes. I love the way you style it, and the proportions you favor!

  51. Megan Gehring says:

Love the simplicity of the Sara Box Top in white. I’d style it with some high waisted jeans, some clogs, and have an excellent, simple weekend look.

  52. Katy Peterson says:

I love the Olivia Dress! I’d style it with a pair of Dansko Thea clogs and a clutch. I love the quality of Only Child clothing!

  53. kiki says:

You know…I commented on your IG that I love the Box Tops, but after seeing this tunic — I’ve been swayed and would have to go for the Chambray Dress you’ve got on!

  54. Emily says:

Hands down I’d get the most wear out of the Rhea linen box top. For upcoming weather I’d wear it with skinny white jeans, a white pencil skirt I have for work, and numerous shorts all through the summer. It’d also get layered over in the fall, which can still be quite warm in the southern part of the US!

  55. SARAH says:

I already bought and received the Mara Tunic in the grid print and love it!!! Can’t wait until the weather warms up so I can take it out for a spin 🙂

  56. Karli says:

Love the Willa Denim Tunic Dress!!!

  57. Evan says:

    Ugh, its all so good!

I think I’d have to choose the Jess Kimono, that poppy red is so beautiful, and even though I’m color shy, I love the idea of it layered over a lightweight chambray romper.

Thanks for yet another beautiful post! Come on Spring!

  58. Eve G says:

I would keep it super simple with the Sara Box Top in white, styled with denim shorts and the new Everlane slide sandals.

  59. Areej says:

I would choose the rhea linen box top and style it with some cropped trousers and loafers! Casual chic!

  60. Katie says:

Ever since you posted about Only Child I’ve been dreaming about the Sara Box Top in white! A simple white tee w/ jeans and clogs is my go-to!

  61. Abbi Johnson says:

This chambray tunic dress is my favorite piece! I’d style it with a pair of bryr clogs!

  62. Tess says:

I love the Mara tunic or the box top in black! Both would be wonderful over black skinnies or my ES Cecelia pant! Love love her stuff!

  63. Judea says:

LOVE the Sara Box Top in white! I’d wear it with everything…so versatile.

  64. Amy says:

I like both the Jess Kimono & the Elle Kimono Jacket!

  65. Patty says:

Love the kimono ..so chic and love the color……can wear with leggings or jeans….looks so comfortable ..thanks for awesome giveaway

  66. Edenn Yorks says:

I’m kind of really in love with the grey Gemma High-Low Tank! It’s such a comfortable and stylish looking piece and I would wear it all the time! Either by itself with skinnies and chunky clogs or with a cardigan to layer it. Grey’s are so in right now too! I need more in my closet 🙂

  67. Kirsten says:

Love the Rhea Linen Box Top (and those other box tops–but the linen was definitely my fave). I’d love to pair it with my pair of canvas Elizabeth Suzann clyde pants, or with high waisted skinny jeans, or over a black shift dress–the possibilities are endless!

  68. Bogna says:

Love clean, simple lines so all the pieces look fabulous but if I had to pick one it’s the same as yours, chambray denim dress. As for styling, so many possibilities- loose, belted, over leggings, layered over long sleeve tee,…

  69. Giustina says:

The Sara Box Top is such a classic piece. I could easily wear it to work with high waisted Levi’s and some brown leather sandals. It would also look cute with jean shorts for lounging next to the creek. Thanks for such a stellar giveaway! Only Child has beautiful clothing.

  70. The Rhea Linen Box Top really speaks to me! I have a sweater that would later over it perfectly! That and some skinny jeans and sandals and I would feel so chic!

  71. Alexis says:

Ooh I love all the pieces! I can definitely see lulu self getting a ton of wear out of the Sara box top or the Jess kimono!

  72. Brianna Mintz says:

I would choose either the Rhea linen box top or the Olivia dress. I can see both of those items being repeat offenders in my wardrobe for years to come!

  73. Laurie says:

This looks so insanely comfortable! I love how OC showed it with ripped black jeans on the website – so versatile. I think it’s my favorite piece in the collection for that reason but I could do so much with the simple box top in white! The shape is stunning and I would probably wear it multiple times a week (which is why i should get it in black, lol)

  74. Desta says:

The Willa tunic dress is perfect for summer! I would style it with my new nubuck Bryr clogs (!!!), a beautiful head wrap, and some statement gold earrings.

  75. Claudia says:

I found myself choosing between the Wila Denim Dress/Tunic and the Olivia Dress and have decided that the denim/chambray tunic is my first choice. Depending upon where I’m wearing it, I’d either go simple, with bare legs, and some chunky necklaces (I have a couple of turquoise ones that’d look great, and a pair of easy sandals. In the winter, I’d definitely layer it over a turtleneck and some tights with a pair of high black boots. I also think this will look great over a long column skirt. Lots of options with this one!

  76. Sabrina says:

I’m completely taken with the Willa denim tunic dress (great choice!) and would style it in myriad ways: with flat leather sandals in the summer, belted over cigarette pants in autumn, and with tights-booties-chunky boyfriend cardigan in winter. I’d love to add this lovely piece to my capsule wardrobe. (*Fingers crossed)

  77. Shannon Y says:

I’m in your boat that spring keeps tempting but has yet to full arrive. Sigh.

These clothes are all so beautiful! I love the kimono with a plain tee or tank, birks, and olive shorts. But all of the box tips are so good too…

  78. Alexandra Chua says:

I have a confession to make – I purchased the Mara tunic and wear it to sleep a few times a week because my husband finds it very sexy and I find it very comfy.
There are a couple of pieces from the collection on my list, but I’d love the Lena pant most of all. I’m really digging the relaxed fit and comfort of wide legged pants at the moment. I can see these being the perfect travel pants, or casual weekend pants paired with any number of tops and tunics and a pair of clogs.
That bag is killer, btw. Love it.
    XO

    • Lee the Bee says:

Alexandra that is amazing! For some reason my fella loves the Mara Tunic too. Must be that v-neck and the ever so slightly sheer fabric. It’s so comfy isn’t it? I personally love the length of it so much. Thanks for entering the giveaway and sharing such great styling ideas! More giveaways to come. xo

  79. Brook says:

First I want to say how much I love your style. I find it incredibly inspirational. As for the giveaway- so awesome! I’d love the Jess Kimono. It’s beautiful and would work with everything already in my closet. I stay at home with my kiddos so my wardrobe needs to work hard for me. In warm weather I would pair it with denim cut offs, a white linen tee, Birkenstocks, Pearl studs and my ancient Swiss army watch. In cooler weather I’d wear it with a black turtleneck, my beloved Hudson flare’s, wedge booties and a simple long gold necklace.

  80. Katrina says:

    Lee,
Again you pull off another flawless post. I check your blog everyday and am sad when they’re isn’t a new post, but you truly choose quality over quantity in your clothes and in your writing. A continual inspiration.
Of course I also want to enter the giveaway for a beautiful piece, I’d go with the Sara Box Top in White. I love high waisted skirts for work and this would be beautiful front tucked into my blue, cotton, ocean scene skirt with low block heeled pumps, and of course a long necklace.

    • Lee the Bee says:

Thanks for such a sweet note Katrina. I really appreciate your support and it means so much to know you’re gaining something positive from my blog. Makes all the hard work more than worthwhile! xoxo

  81. Susyolivia says:

Ooooo I love this chambray tunic!! I actually just ordered the leather knot belt from ES and I would love to see how that pairs with this dress. Although I do love that Mara silk blend tunic as well…..decisions, decisions
